Kathy Mowry

Kathy Mowry is Professor of Intercultural Studies and Christian Education at Trevecca Nazarene University, where she holds the J.B. Elizer Chair in Christian Ministry. Before coming to the university in 2007, she served in urban and global mission assignments, including an 11-year tenure in Russia and Ukraine, where she directed pastoral theological education across the countries of the former Soviet Union. Before this, she served in pastoral roles in urban, multicultural churches in Los Angeles and as director of graduate programs at the Bresee Institute for Urban Training. She holds a master’s degree from Wheaton College Graduate School and, from Fuller Theological Seminary, a master’s and PhD.  Both Kathy and her husband Jon are ordained elders in the Church of the Nazarene. They make their home in Nashville, Tennessee, where Jon is deeply involved in ministry to the homeless population.

Eugénio Duarte

Eugénio Duarte, a general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene, was born in Brava, Cape Verde, where he accepted Christ under the ministry of the Church of the Nazarene at the age of 12 and was later ordained. He served as pastor of the Porto Novo and Mindelo Churches of the Nazarene, superintendent of the Cabo Verde District, and as a teacher and director of the Seminario Nazareno de Cabo Verde (SNCV). He later became strategy coordinator for the Africa Lusophone Field, directing the start of Nazarene work in Equatorial Guinea, and then as strategy coordinator for Central Africa. At the time of his election as general superintendent in 2009, he was the Africa West and French Equatorial field strategy coordinator, where he facilitated the expansion of the church into Sierra Leone and the Réunion Islands, and developed a strategy to enter Guinea Bissau. Eugénio studied at SNCV and received a Master of Arts degree from Azusa Pacific University. He was bestowed the honorary Doctor of Divinity by Africa Nazarene University in May 2006 and, in 2012, received a Master in Business Administration from Northwest Nazarene University. Eugénio and his wife, Maria Amelia, live in the Kansas City area and have three sons: Sergio, Francisco, and Richard; and two grandsons, Gabriel and Ben Amar.

Rick Harvey

Rick Harvey

Rick Harvey is pastor of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Bethany, Oklahoma. He served previously as youth pastor at Kansas City First and as pastor of Nazarene congregations in Tennessee (Dale and Columbia Grace) and Ohio (Springdale). He is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University, Nazarene Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Asbury Seminary (DMin). Rick and his wife, Annette, have two daughters, Brittany and Morgan, and one granddaughter, Sadie.

Diane Leclerc

Diane Leclerc grew up in Maryland, and graduated from Eastern Nazarene College, Nazarene Theological Seminary (M.Div), and Drew University (PhD, historical theology).  She has pastored congregations in Maine and Idaho, and has published numerous articles and eight books, including Discovering Christian Holiness. Diane is in her third decade of service at Northwest Nazarene University as professor of historical theology, and travels often to speak in a variety of venues. In addition, she serves as Associate Pastor of Congregational Care at College Church of the Nazarene (Nampa) and ministers to about 80 older women every Tuesday as leader of a women’s Bible study.

Chris Adams

Chris Adams

Chris Adams serves on the faculty at Azusa Pacific Seminary and is the founding director of the Center for Flourishing in Vocational Ministry. He served in full-time music ministry as an associate pastor at Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene, as a missionary on specialized assignment providing pastoral care to Nazarene missionary families, and as a campus pastor at Azusa Pacific University. He is currently participating as a consultant and researcher with the Duke Clergy Health Initiative, with the Humility in Religious Leadership study at Boston University’s Danielsen Institute, and the Flourishing in Ministry project at the University of Notre Dame. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University and masters’ degrees and a doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Lori, have two children, Lexi (9) and Cole (4).

A NOTE ABOUT FAMILY OPTIONS

PALCON 2020 at NNU will again be family friendly in response to positive feedback from clergy families who attended in 2016. Several university departments will provide programming for children and there will be a first-ever teen mini-retreat. Childcare will be provided for younger children.
