A growing number of Nazarene pastors are experiencing freedom from the clutches of excessive debt, lack of savings, and constant financial stress, by attending COMPASS True North Retreats. These practical weekend intensive retreats enable ministers to address their financial challenges, set achievable goals, and leave with a realistic plan.

This preconference event will introduce you to the True North Retreat process and provide the resources you need to host a True North Retreat on your district. No matter what kind of financial challenges the pastors and licensed ministers on your district are dealing with, you CAN make a positive impact on their family’s financial well-being by offering this proven resource on your district.

Bring the hope of financial freedom to the pastors you know!

Association of Nazarene Sociologists and Researchers Changes, Challenges and Hope: Sociological Perspectives and Missional Implications

2:00pm – 5:00pm, June 15
Cost: None

Nazarene clergy attending PALCON 2020 at MNU are invited to join the Association of Nazarene Sociologists and Researchers (ANSR) for a preconference seminar examining changing measures of demographics, religious participation, and cultural values in the US. Using the latest sociological and congregational research, Dr. Ron Benefiel will lead an interactive session designed to help further the mission and message of the local Church of the Nazarene.

Presentations by different Nazarene sociologists will include four sets of data such as the recent Faith Communities Today ( study and a recent ANSR Poll survey of Nazarene clergy and lay leaders. Nazarene trends, comparisons to other faith groups, and participant questions are designed not only for information, but also to help us think deeply about the way forward in local church ministry. ANSR will also sponsor four workshops (one per each workshop session) during the MNU PALCON.

Each PALCON will feature a gathering for especially for women clergy and their spouses, district superintendents, and fellow clergy who champion their engagement in ministry. See the schedule for your PALCON venue for details.

Breakfast Hosted by COMPASS Initiative: Addressing the Financial Challenges of the Pastoral Family

Did you know the Church of the Nazarene’s COMPASS Initiative was awarded a second $1 million grant from Lilly Endowment? This presents every district with an incredible opportunity to assist their ministers toward personal financial well-being.

Get the details at a special breakfast gathering during each PALCON 2020 event. Check your venue’s schedule for date, time, and location.

This informal meal-time gathering of NTS Alumni is a great time to reconnect with friends and to stay connected with NTS and its Center for Pastoral Leadership.
